Brockham
is an ideal location for many leisure pursuits, whether
it is painting the delightful Village
Green and cottages; starting a cycling or walking tour
of the Surrey countryside, the Greensand Way or the North
Dowbs; or simply idling
away a Sunday afternoon at the
pubs overlooking the Green.
Public Houses
There are two delightful pubs on the Village
Green
- The Royal Oak, a Grade 1 listed building, and
- The Duke's Head, built in around 1870
Walking around Brockham
Brockham is an ideal starting (and finishing) point
for walks around the Surrey countryside. As time permits we will
be posting some of our favourite walks, including 'Chimneypots',
Lime Works and Boxhill.
Brockham for Artists
The picturesque village of Brockham has
attracted artists from miles around wanting to capture
the delightful cottages and scenes around Brockham.
Surrey watercolourists, Sidney E Huxtable
(1905-1990) painted much of the village and the outlying
farms.
