Burnley
Video Productions have recently discovered a film of Brockham
from 28th June 1958 and transferred it to video and DVD.
Originally
filmed by the North Downs Cine Society, this
is a
charming
old colour film complete with sound. It has been digitally
remastered and is now available on both VHS and DVD*.
It is shot around Brockham Green
and features the Medieval Festival of 1958. The villagers are dressed
in magnificent
Medieval
Costume. As well as many villagers the film also features the Chessington
Fencing Club, the Monotype Band, the Way House Children, Robertson
Pipers and well-known national-hunt jockeys in a donkey derby.
The original intention of the Festival
was to raise funds for the village hall, Way House children and
the Parish Church. Today a donation from each video sold will go
towards providing disabled access to the church.
