We are such stuff

As dreams are made on, and our little life

Is rounded with a sleep.

Thank You
Nick, Poppy and I, and Michael’s sister Pauline, want to thank all the Brockham friends who came to support us at Michael’s funeral. Your presence there, and the quality of the singing, gave us great strength. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Francesca Woodhams

Our Grateful Thanks
Sue, Angus, Emma and Joe Devine would like to say thank you to all our kind neighbours and friends, for their cards, letters and offers of help following the death of Brian. We have found real comfort in them all

Kitty Isabel Maud Ranger

Brockham lost one of its longest-residing residents recently when Kitty Ranger died. Kitty was brought up by her farming parents in East Grinstead and then Capel, where she met her husband Harry. Kitty and Harry decided to live in Brockham and watched their house in Brockham Lane being built in 1933. They moved into it after their marriage on 3rd June 1933. It was to remain Kitty's home until her death on May 13th 2004 at the age of 97. Thus she remained a resident of Brockham for 71 years - is this a modern record in the village?

She and Harry brought up a daughter Diana and a son Brian in the house. Harry died in 1984 (older residents may remember him as 'Harry Ranger & His Band' playing for the dances in the Village Hall on Bonfire Nights during the 40s, 50s and 60s). In recent years Kitty spent a lot of her time with her daughter in Bournemouth and her son in the South of France. But she always liked to come back to her home in Brockham between visits. As well as her two children she also had four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of whom were a great joy to her. She passed away peacefully in hospital in Bournemouth after a short illness. All the family will miss her.

Mary Hampton
Mary died, too young, on July 1st after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Even while she was ill, she remained in sparkling good humour and full of vitality. Everyone who knew her loved her, because she knew how to make you feel special, and because she was always the life and soul of the party. Friends like Mary are as rare and as precious as diamonds, and how we will miss her.
Richard, Vikki and Chris would like to thank all their friends and family for their wonderful support during Mary’s illness, and since she passed away.

Gerry Oakley
Thanks
Betty, Simon and Ian Oakley would like to express their sincere thanks for all the kindness shown to them by friends and neighbours during Betty’s stay in hospital following Gerry’s death.

Doreen Beasley

Doris Burrows, Gwyneth Terry and Ada Clarke wish to express their sincere thanks for the many cards, kind letters and flowers received after the great loss of their sister Doreen.

Your thoughts and prayers have been a great comfort to us, and special thanks to all who attended the service at Christ Church, Brockham
