It hasn't quite got as far as the wonderful ladies
of Rylstone WI, however Brockham Women's Institute is a thriving
and active group of women.
In addition to a range of activities, the
WI holds monthly meetings where a broad range of topics are presented
and you are given the opportunity to 'unleash' your creativity.
It's an ideal way to develop friendships and
participate in an exciting community and to attend courses from
food hygiene to rock climbing.
Brockham WI are part of the Leith Hill Group
which has quarterly meetings at which all WIs are represented.
We also belong to the Surrey Federation, based
at 2 Denmark Road, Guildford, which
runs numerous activities.
Pop in any time Tuesday to Friday 10:00am - 4:30pm.
The National Federation, based in Fulham, London
owns Denham College. Denman is the WI's own Residential
Adult Education College near Oxford,. Every year, over 6,000 students
from all over England and Wales attend some 500 courses (usually
2-4 days) to develop new skills and knowledge,
start a new hobby, or purely for pleasure.
If all this sounds intriguing and you've wondered
what the WI was really like, why not come along for two or three
meetings as a non-member.
We're sure you'll enjoy it!
