Welcome back all after a lovely Easter Break. We are now approaching
a long term where the children will be busy looking at castles, how
they were built and who lived there. Modelling clay, paper, paints
and all sorts of materials will be used to create our own castles,
shields and swords.
For the committee it is a busy fund-raising time
too as we will be running 'Teas on the Green' on 22nd May. We hope
for good weather
and lots of cakes as well as helpers on the day.
Our annual 'Fun
Run / Garden Fete' will take place on Saturday 11th June from
2pm to 4pm. We will be having an 'Auction of Promise'
with brilliant items to bid for as well as a Raffle, Tombola,
Treasure Hunt, Bouncy Castle and more. The Fun Run will take place
in the
Church Hall and on the Church Green and we are looking forward
to seeing you all there.

Welcome
back to Nursery and we hope everyone had a good summer holiday.
We are looking forward to all our new children and parents joining
us this month and send all those moving on to school our best
wishes. It’s a very exciting time.
The autumn term will run from Monday
6th September to Wednesday 15th December with Half term from
25th October to 29th October.
At
the Nursery we have had a busy couple of months.
The children were
introduced to -Yuko- a Japanese lady, friend to the Nursery Supervisor.
Thanks to her the children have studied the
Japanese culture, made their own Japanese miniature trees, listened
to new stories, copied Japanese writing and learned about the Japanese
food and dress code. It was a whole new world for the children
and they enjoyed it very much. During this term the children will
hear
and act out some favourite fairy tales like Jack and the Beanstalk,
The Gingerbread Man, Billy Goat Gruff and more.
Children who will
be attending school in September have been invited to visit the
reception class and meet their teacher in early July.
On Monday
12th July the children will be having a Circus party which will
involve learning to juggle, spinning plates, face
painting and
lots more.
The last day of term will be Tuesday 13th July
and we would like to end with a Teddy Bears Picnic on the Church
Lawn
organised
by the Nursery Committee. Parents with children starting
at the
Nursery
this September and the following January are very welcome
to attend.
The Nursery Committee has run two events in the
last months, Teas on the Green and the Nursery Fun Run / Garden
Fete.
Both events
have been successful in raising money for the Nursery so
that new equipment
can be purchased. We would like to thank all parents who
were able to help out on those days and/or who donated
cakes. Also
a big
Thank You to Mr and Mrs Parker at Lawnswood for letting
us use their garden
as the venue for the Fun Run.
Our Raffle was very popular
and we are grateful to all businesses who donated a raffle prize
in order to help
the Nursery raise
funds. It was a very enjoyable day for parents and children
alike.

After
discovering the different times of a day we are now looking into
healthy eating. The children will be tasting food from all over
the world and will be discovering what children in other countries
are eating.
On the 3rd March we would like to invite you
to a Chocoholics Evening in the Church Hall. Delicious Continental
chocolates will
be displayed
(and may be tried) as well as gift items for all the family. Prices
start from as low as 10p and orders will be delivered well in time
for Easter.

a prospectus and application form please contact either:-

All our newcomers have started by now and are
settling in well. We are having great fun with our day and night
theme and the preparation of
various foods that are being served during the day.
We are very proud of our
new climbing frame that has arrived in
bright colours. The children are very excited about it and have
spent a lot of time trying it out. I would like to thank all
the volunteers who helped with the removal of the old slide,
setting up the new play equipment, delivering and raking out
the bark as well as building a new garden gate.
Our next fundraising
event will be a Chocoholics party in early March, which was
very successful last year, and we are hoping for a lot of interest
again this year.

New Year. The Nursery staff would like to welcome all new children
who are starting Nursery this term and are looking forward to many
hours of fun.
Our topic this term is the different parts of the day - day and
night, morning, afternoon and evening - and how time flies when
you have fun. We will be looking at various foods for breakfast
and lunch and order our favourite toast toppings. Day will become
night and we will be holding a pyjama party.
Our next fundraising event will be a Chocoholics party in early
March, which was very successful last year, and we are hoping that
there will be a lot of interest again this year.
