The outdoor bowling season has begun at the beautifully refurbished green and clubhouse at the end of Mill Hill Lane. The club, which prides itself on its friendliness, has vacancies for both experienced bowlers and absolute beginners. Saturday morning coaching sessions are planned from May 14th, 21st and 28th. Do come and join us.

A warm welcome awaits visitors and potential members of the club which now has a beautiful new green, a grand new pavilion and the same delightful venue, next to the river at the end of Mill Hill Lane.

The Sidney Michael Poland Charity, which is the club's landlord, provided the pavilion and Mole Valley District Council helped towards the cost of the green. So the basic tasks were carried out by professionals, but members have worked too, since August last year and throughout the winter and spring. Jobs included preparing the site, landscaping the area, replacing the outbuildings, turning the old pavilion into changing rooms and lavatories, preparing the pavilion base and fitting out the building once erected - as well as fundraising.

Now it is time to play. You're sure to find someone down there on a Thursday evening, which is club night. Alternatively ring Captain Geoff Collins (843956) or Vice Captain Don Clinch (842312).

Brockham is a small club set in a beautiful location beside the river Mole. It has been successful over a period of more than fifty years, having won many regional competitions as well as being renowned for its friendly, social atmosphere.

For summer 2002, the club’s aim is to welcome some new players and the first open morning will take place on Saturday, the 11th of May when prospective members can come and have a go on the bowling green, followed by a ploughman’s lunch with our compliments.

This year also we are making a special introductory offer of two seasons play for the price of one for anyone joining before the 31st of May. Coaching will of course be available, beginners and experienced players are all welcome.
