Bogus callers
Attention is drawn
to bogus callers in the Leigh and Newdigate area. Males
and females of eastern European
origin have been
knocking on people’s doors trying to sell pictures.
They normally tell people they are Polish students and
sometimes they have notes with them saying that they need
money for
a sick relative, etc. I personally dealt with one of these
Polish callers last year who admitted that what was written
in the note was not true and most of the pictures were
actually photocopies.
