Cars
causing obstruction will face fines
After Easter the Police are planning to keep checking any cars
obstructing Wheelers Lane during school drop off and pick up
times. They will warn people first, but then they intend to
issue tickets.
Action Theme Park in Tilehurst Lane
We
have been in contact with Mole Valley Planning and Environmental
Health Departments regarding the
proposed action theme park due
to take place at Bushbury Farm. Although this is within Betchworth
Parish Council control, the obvious by-products of noise pollution
and increased traffic will greatly affect Brockham. There does
appear to be a planning loophole, which permits this, and it
may be a case of watching how the first one goes on May 16th
to see how we can prevent any others. Concerned residents could
contact Mr Primrose, the Mole Valley Planning Enforcement Officer
on 01306 879386.
Waste Reduction Workshop
If anyone would like to participate in a workshop on waste
reduction, Surrey County Council would like to hear the
views of the community
whilst developing its waste local plan. Please contact
me on 842113 and if we can get sufficient interest, I
will arrange
the workshop.
Parish Council AGM
The Annual Meeting of
the Parish Council takes place on the 30th April in the Cricket
Pavilion from 7.30pm.
The speaker will be
Professor Richard Selley, a local geologist and he
will be speaking about his part in the development of Denbies
Vineyard. For a
preview see www.winelandsofbritain.
Continuing problems with highways, ditches
and drains
Councillor Hammond
has yet again been in touch with Roger Archer-Reeves from
Surrey County Council about
the continuing
problems we have
with highways, ditches and drains. It seems he
has limited resources with which to work and we are exploring
other
means of expressing
our dissatisfaction with the situation.
Our next meeting is on Monday 10th May in the Church
Hall at 8.00pm. Public time is 9.00pm. All are
welcome.
